About Twisted Hobbys

Two Decades of Passion, Performance, and RC Flight

Twisted Hobbys is a family owned RC hobby company based in Central Florida. For more than 15 years, we have focused on providing unique, high performance RC aircraft, carefully matched electronics, replacement parts, and knowledgeable support for pilots throughout the United States and around the world.

We are not simply an online store. We are builders, pilots, designers, testers, and longtime enthusiasts who understand the products we sell because we use them ourselves.

Fly Twisted. Fly Inspired.

The Twisted Hobbys Story

Twisted Hobbys began with a passion for radio controlled flight and a desire to offer something different from the typical mass produced RC airplane. What started as a small specialty business focused on unique, high quality products and knowledgeable support has grown into one of the most recognized sources for premium EPP aircraft in the United States and throughout the worldwide RC community.

Over the years, Twisted Hobbys has introduced pilots to backyard 3D flying, indoor aerobatics, sport flying, bush aircraft, gliders, jets, warbirds, boats, and many other areas of the hobby. While the business, product selection, and technology continue to evolve, our purpose remains the same: provide exciting products that perform properly and support the customers who enjoy them.

Shipped from Our Central Florida Warehouse

Twisted Hobbys operates from our warehouse in Central Florida, where our products are received, inspected, organized, packed, and shipped by our own team.

Maintaining our own inventory allows us to better understand the products we carry, quickly identify replacement parts, and provide more accurate information when customers need assistance.

When you contact Twisted Hobbys, you are communicating directly with people who work with these models and components every day.

Our Manufacturing Partners

Twisted Hobbys works directly and collaborates with respected manufacturers including RC Factory, Hacker Model, VA Models, Manutch, APC, and other specialized companies throughout Europe and around the world. These relationships allow us to exchange ideas, provide product feedback, assist with testing and development, and help bring specialized RC products to pilots worldwide.

These are not ordinary mass produced foam airplanes. Many are manufactured in smaller, specialized production runs using construction methods developed specifically for lightweight RC aircraft. Through our long term relationships with these manufacturers, Twisted Hobbys actively contributes to product development, testing, electronics design, packaging, documentation, and continued improvement. This collaboration allows us to provide direct feedback, request product enhancements, help develop new models, and maintain an extensive selection of replacement and upgrade parts.

Designed and Tested by Experienced Pilots

Aircraft performance begins with the people who design, test, and refine it. Twisted Hobbys has worked with respected designers and accomplished pilots from around the world, including Cody Wojcik, Jan Votava, Jan Sedláček, Ido Segev, Chris Jewett, Jan Špatný, Gernot Bruckmann, Radek Rája, and others with experience in 3D freestyle, precision aerobatics, indoor competition, F3P, sport flying, and product development.

Our pilots and contributors include Oliver Willis, Benton Griffin, Asher Lindquist, Connor Johnson, Santiago Perez Sequeira, Jeremy Blocker, Dennis Michael, the Litespeed Production Team, Park Smith, Jake Arnold, Jim Goodwin, and many others who help test, demonstrate, represent, and support our products. Their real world feedback helps refine control geometry, power requirements, durability, balance, and overall flight performance, creating aircraft with distinctive flying characteristics that cannot be developed through appearance alone.

Why EPP Construction Is Different

EPP stands for expanded polypropylene, but not all EPP aircraft are created equal. Foam density, shaping, reinforcement, airfoil design, control geometry, and overall construction all influence durability and flight performance.

When properly engineered, EPP provides a lightweight, impact resistant airframe with low wing loading, excellent slow speed handling, extreme maneuverability, and easier repairs. Specialized manufacturing techniques, carbon fiber reinforcement, and carefully designed structural components balance flexibility, strength, and precision, resulting in aircraft that are forgiving and durable while still delivering the crisp response serious pilots expect.

Why Matched Power Systems Matter

Electronics are designed with the same attention as the airframe itself. Motors, ESCs, servos, propellers, batteries, and connectors must be properly matched to achieve the right balance of power, efficiency, reliability, flight time, and overall weight.

Twisted Hobbys power systems are developed and tested for the aircraft they are intended to fly, providing responsive throttle control, strong vertical performance, consistent servo operation, proper balance, and dependable performance. Many combinations are designed to be as close to plug and play as possible, simplifying installation and removing the uncertainty of selecting individual components.

Support After the Sale

Our responsibility does not end when an order leaves the warehouse. Twisted Hobbys provides downloadable build manuals, build videos, detailed product information, setup guidance, recommended electronics, replacement parts, upgrade options, and direct customer support. These resources, along with links to compatible power systems, parts, and accessories, can be found directly on each model’s product page.

Because we stock individual airframe pieces, hardware, landing gear, control components, motor mounts, and other replacement parts, damage does not always mean replacing an entire aircraft. Whether you are selecting your first EPP model, setting up a competition aircraft, locating a replacement part, or improving an existing model, the Twisted Hobbys Team is here to help.

More Than a Hobby Store

Twisted Hobbys is supported by a worldwide community of pilots, builders, designers, manufacturers, and customers who share a genuine passion for RC flight.

We are proud of what we have built over the past 15 years, but we remain focused on what comes next: better aircraft, improved electronics, stronger customer resources, and new ways to keep pilots flying.

Thank you for supporting Twisted Hobbys and allowing us to remain part of your RC experience.
