Description
Manutech Racing – MTR Line of Race Spec Quadcopters
The MTR line of race quads was designed around some of the new smaller tech that the race quads require. Smaller cameras, slim video transmitters, super small ESCs and Flight Controllers with piggybacked or built in PDBs all allow for a more compact electronics bundle that fits nicely between the 25mm deck spacing of the main frame and upper deck.
Which MTR Race Quad is right for you?
There are four MTR Race Quad frame sizes to choose from based on your flying goal and race objectives. Each frame has the exact same center section/pod for the electronics, so if you do decide to try a different size at some point, all that would be needed is to adjust the length of the motor/esc wires. In some cases you would also want to change motor and esc size. The MTR Race Quads were specifically designed around the ReadyMadeRC Dodo Board, mating PDB, Tramp HV video transmitter, Spektrum FPV Serial Receiver and 1177 style/size FPV camera.
MTR-3.0
The original design size and the one that all the testing was done on. This little pocket rocket is for those that want the most performance in the smallest package. It is a great size for flying in a smaller space, but will still keep up with your buddy’s bigger machines. This a 154mm size main frame cut from 3mm Carbon with motor hole patterns specifically made for the 1800 sized motors and 3 inch props (hence the name MTR-3.0). It can of course be set up mild or wild depending on the selection of motor and battery. A favorite combination of many pilots is however 1804/2800kv motors - 20a ESCs - 4s/850 battery and T3045 DAL bullnose props.
MTR-4.0
This is the big sister to the MTR-3.0, the perfect frame for a light weight and ballistic freestyle setup. It is super-fast and agile with lots of hang time, but don’t be fooled, this frame is also a great set up for the FPV race course with its nimble feel and quick response. It is a 179mm size main frame cut from 3mm Carbon with motor hole patterns specifically made for the 1800 sized motors and 4 inch props (hence the name MTR-4.0). It can of course be set up mild or wild depending on the selection of motor and battery. A favorite combination of many pilots is however 1804/2800kv motors - 20a ESCs - 4s/1050 battery and T4045 DAL props.
MTR-4.0ss
The “ss” stands for Super Sport (of course, right!), this is the Basher Frame of the Line-Up. A great frame for extreme flying of all sorts and the added durability of a thicker frame for those less than perfect flights. Also a great choice for close in and tip to tip FPV racing were extra strength is a bonus when you tangle with the competition. It is a 179mm size main frame cut from 4mm Carbon with motor hole patterns specifically made for the 2200 sized motors and 4 inch props (hence the name MTR-4.0ss). It can of course be set up mild or wild depending on the selection of motor and battery. A favorite combination of many pilots is however 2204/2600kv motors - 20a ESCs - 4s/1300 battery and 4045BN DAL props.
MTR-5.0
King of the Hill and by far the favorite choice of many pilots. The perfect frame for those wanting a 5 inch machine that will do everything from big lazy power loops to ripping thru a course at the local FPV Race Event. It is a 204mm size main frame cut from 4mm Carbon with motor hole patterns specifically made for the 2200 sized motors and 5 inch props (hence the name MTR-5.0). It can of course be set up mild or wild depending on the selection of motor and battery. A favorite combination of many pilots is however 2204/2600kv motors - 30a ESCs - 4s/1300 battery and 5045C DAL props.
