Description
The new transparent iron-on film with enhanced adhesion, which can be applied directly to EPP, is now available. It tolerates a wide range of temperatures on a typical modeling iron, but we advise testing it first on a sample of EPP and beginning with the temperature set to the lower third of the control dial. For digitally controlled irons, we recommend a temperature range of 120-140°C. This new iron-on film exhibits significantly improved adhesion to both printed and unprinted EPP surfaces, thus eliminating the need for additional bonding materials like the popular 3M 77 contact adhesive in most cases. Its minimal thermal shrinkage ensures that the treated parts remain undistorted. The film is offered in a thickness of 34µm, with a width of 320mm available in matte and glossy finishes, and a 75µm thickness, 305mm wide in a glossy finish.
The 1.5m length is suitable for treating floats and other experimental projects. We recommend the 34µm thickness for all our models and floats. Should you require increased strength and resilience at the expense of weight, we suggest using the 75µm film, particularly for models such as the Fury, Stigra, and Air truck.
