Description
Introducing the all-new 29” EPP F-22 Raptor from RcFactory! Setting new grounds for capable combat is ready for fast-paced aerobatics, fun combat or just spur of the moment flying with minimal investment. Roll rate is insane and certain maneuvers can't even be emulated by traditional airplanes. Mid fuselage mounted motor/propeller also with fully EPP design makes the Raptor almost indestructible. Like all of Twisted Hobbys foamies, the low weight and durable full EPP construction make this airplane perform great while remaining incredibly durable, all without breaking the bank. The F-22 Raptor boasts a wide speed range and quick construction, making it an ideal spec combat plane or just a bunch of no-frills fun for pilots of any skill level.

Back for my replacement
After 6 years and many hundreds of flights, my F22 finally gave up the ghost in a vertical dive after I likely overheated the ESC in a very long vertical climb, with a complete loss of control. It was getting old and tired, and on its last legs anyway. The 2nd one was again a joy to build, and I again added rudders, with the hinge lines moved forward. Rudders are not at all required, but I like to do hammerheads, flat turns, steer well in harrier flight, and do a funky knife-edge. For me, rudder(s) on ANY airplane are a must.

*Update* 10 minute flights consistently! This one always goes to the field with me. Please make an F-15!!!

5 Stars!
I built the plane per plans, it flew great, but then did some modifications for experiment and fun. I added ganged rudders using two 5 gram servos and added a tri landing gear. Also, used a 2208 2600kv motor with 6x4 prop, and 40 amp ESC. Power output showed 330 watts with the 2200 mah 3 cell battery on a top slot. Weight comes in at 22 ounces, but that's 240 watts per pound if my math is right. This gives about 6-7 minute flights. Yes, heavier, but wow, fast and more fun! Also, tried a 400, 1200 kv size motor with 8x4.5 slow fly prop which worked well, but somewhat slower. It's a hoot!

Awesome Raptor
Flat out awesome!! Flies 6-7 minutes, an is an absolute blast. Wish they had an Eagle and a Hornet too, with rudders. I’m definitely scooping a Gripen when they’re back in stock.

29" EPP F-22 RAPTOR JET
Assembly was relative easy. Plastic parts should have been stronger in my opinion. Carbon Fiber should have been used in the kit - not as an extra item. Flies very well with the motor, ESC and other power pack parts. Crashed once and reassembled with foam tac and medium CA. Replaced a control horn with and it flew well again. Enjoyable plane.

Like all my numerous TH airplanes, flys awesome! Recommended power pkg. with apc 4.1 prop

Looks awesome in the air!
When dialed in, the plane flies like a kite on a string. If you get the surface areas going in the right direction, it will fly. It's awesome. The only complaint I have is the tiny parts included are all you have. Lose one and you'll spend a lot of time trying to retrieve it. A spare black clip that connects the push rod assembly to the servo would've been nice. Other than the lack of spare parts, I'd purchase this plane again.

F-22 Raptor
I was looking for something different when I came across this plane. It's a very quick build, took about 3.5 hours. I downloaded the included pdf build file that was a big help. I used Foam Tac for the complete build, gives a vert tight bond and won't yellow over time. The power package that Twisted Hobby recommends for this plane is perfect, plenty of power. I'm using a 800 3S battery which gave me about an 8 minute flight. This thing flies on a rail no matter what configuration you put it in. Just an all around good aircraft. The only changes I made was to add some small carbon fiber rods to the control surfaces to stiffen them up, probably not needed, but seemed to help a little....
