Description

The Twisted Hobbys CG Machine provides a stable, repeatable way to check and adjust the center of gravity on EPP RC aircraft before flight. Set the aircraft at the CG location specified in its manual, observe whether it balances nose-heavy or tail-heavy, and reposition the battery or other movable equipment as needed.

Find the Balance Point Before Flight

Begin with the manufacturer's recommended CG location, check the assembled aircraft in its normal flight configuration, and move the battery or other adjustable equipment until the desired balance is reached.

Basic CG Check

Prepare the tool. Assemble the CG Machine and remove the protective film before use.

Prepare the aircraft. Install the normal flight battery and other equipment used in flight.

Check the balance. Support the aircraft at the CG location specified in the model's manual.

Adjust and recheck. Move the battery or other movable equipment as needed, then repeat the balance check.

Upright and Inverted Use

Standard Setup: Check the aircraft upright when its shape and landing gear provide suitable clearance.

Inverted Setup: Turn the aircraft upside down when an upright measurement is not practical.

High-Wing Models: Inverted balancing is typically the preferred method.

Fit Limitation: Aircraft shapes and dimensions vary, so the tool may not fit beneath every model in the upright position.

Important Setup Reference: Always begin with the center-of-gravity location specified by the aircraft manufacturer. Make sure the aircraft is stable on the tool before releasing it, and use the inverted method when upright clearance is limited.

Well made but scale should be in mm not inches. The CG listed in the Twisted manuals should give both from the nose and from the leading edge of the wing to make the CG meter easier to use.

I purchased this because my last model I built was a little off center. I built the Fokker with is and it's dead on. Very happy with my purchase.
