Description

Crack Series Pro 6-Channel DSMX/DSM2 Receiver with Diversity Antennas

The Crack Series Pro 6-channel receiver is a compact and lightweight choice for small to mid-size RC aircraft. It is compatible with Spektrum DSMX transmitters and remains backward compatible with older DSM2 systems.

Dual diversity antennas independently monitor reception to help maintain a dependable control connection. Extended antenna leads also provide greater flexibility when positioning the antennas inside foam, carbon-reinforced, or metal-equipped aircraft.

Automatic Failsafe Setup

After a successful bind and valid transmitter signal are detected, the receiver automatically stores the current positions of all channels. If the signal is lost for more than two seconds, the receiver moves the channels to those stored positions. Place all transmitter controls in the desired failsafe positions before completing the binding process.

Key Features

  • Six-channel lightweight receiver
  • Compatible with Spektrum DSMX protocol
  • Backward compatible with DSM2 systems
  • Dual diversity antennas with independent signal monitoring
  • Extended antenna leads for flexible installation
  • Quick Connect with brownout detection
  • Automatic failsafe position storage during binding
  • Red LED indicates recorded signal holds
  • Wide 3.5V to 8.5V operating range

Specifications

  • Channels: 6
  • Protocol Compatibility: DSMX and DSM2
  • Frequency: 2.4GHz
  • Input Voltage: 3.5V to 8.5V
  • Dimensions: 29 x 19 x 11 mm
  • Weight: Approximately 4.1 g
  • Antennas: Dual diversity antennas
  • Protective Covering: Black or clear PVC shrink tubing
  • Included: Bind plug and printed quick-reference guide

Binding Procedure

  1. Place the transmitter controls in the positions you want stored for failsafe operation.
  2. Insert the bind plug into the receiver.
  3. Supply power to the receiver. The LED will begin flashing rapidly.
  4. Maintain at least 2 meters of separation and place the transmitter into bind mode.
  5. When the receiver LED remains solid, binding is complete.
  6. Disconnect power and remove the bind plug before normal operation.

Binding Distance Note

Some newer Spektrum transmitters, including NX and iX series radios, may require additional distance from the receiver during binding. If binding is unsuccessful, gradually increase the separation between the transmitter and receiver. In some installations, up to approximately 30 feet of separation may be required.

Installation Notes

  • Position the two antennas in different orientations whenever possible.
  • Keep the exposed antenna sections away from carbon fiber, batteries, motors, ESCs, and large metal components.
  • Secure the receiver so it cannot move or place strain on the servo connections.
  • Perform a complete transmitter range check before the first flight.
  • Confirm correct failsafe operation before flying.

Compatibility Notice

This receiver is not manufactured or endorsed by Spektrum. Crack Series receivers are independently tested for compatibility with Spektrum DSMX and DSM2 protocols only. It is not compatible with JR DMSS or other radio-system protocols.

    Solid, and Reliable

Posted by Jim on Oct 17th 2025

I have quite a few of these and honestly, I put them in and never really think about them again. They are super reliable and I've never had an issue with thousands of flights on them. The only one that I killed was in saltwater but that was my fault.

Love this little receiver. Probably about as small as you could go, and works great. For the price, 100% worth.

    Nice compact light weight Rx

Posted by TorqueRoller on Nov 21st 2019

This is a nice compact, affordable, and light weight Rx for those builds where weight and size matters. No problems with binding and the control link has seemed flawless with no glitches or failsafes. I haven't flown it to the limits of its range, but it has worked flawlessly within a few hundred feet.
